Black History Month
Sister Alethia Waddell Shaw is the second to be honored at the Family and Friends Day Celebration. Sister Shaw has been a member of Mount Pleasant for over 70 years. She has always been a very loyal and active member.
Sister Shaw sings on the Senior choir, she is a Deaconess, a Home Missions worker, and she is on the Pulpit Aid committee.
Sister Shaw has been married to Mr. Raymond Shaw, Sr. for 66 years. This is more proof of her loyalty, dedication and patience.
Two children were born to that union: Raymond Shaw Jr. and Sheryl Shaw Leatherberry. They have been blessed with three grandchildren.
Sister Shaw has served her community for many years through teaching, volunteering and public service. She encourages others and always lends a helping hand. God truly shines His light through her.
