Women’s Home & Overseas Missionary Society
Our mission is to make disciples through: Promoting growth in the knowledge and understanding of God and His plan of redemption for the world, as revealed through Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. Teaching the concepts of Christian missions and provide experiences for participation in mission work and its ministries. Exemplifying the principles of Christian living and to win others to Christ. Promoting the cause of World Evangelism and Serving as a financial support system to under gird the world mission outreach of the A.M.E. Zion Church at home and overseas, to the end that, through the power of the Holy Spirit; Christ is exalted and God is glorified.
Christian Education Dept.
The Christian Education Department of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church was created for the promotion and supervision of the Christian training and development of the entire membership of the denomination.
The Christian Education Department offers workshops, seminars, conferences and conventions that help develop effective skills in Christian Educators and those striving for a closer walk with the Lord. It also establishes curriculum and other standards to support Christian Education programs at every level of the church.
Culinary Dept.
The Culinary Department is a department that handles all food functions for the church. This department is comprised of experienced chefs as well as homemakers, teenagers, and anyone who is willing to learn the art of fine cooking. While experience is well appreciated, it is not mandatory. The staff of the Culinary Department is more than willing to train and cultivate anyone to reach their greatest potential in this department.

Our mission is to make disciples by: promoting God's plan for marriage through teaching married couples what the Scriptures teach concerning Christian marriage; encouraging couples and families to work toward the ideal in relationships set forth in the Holy Scripture; and providing tools to couples and families for improving their relationship with each other and with God in Christ Jesus
Singles
Our mission is to make disciples and grow by seeking God’s kingdom first. By building community among singles, an atmosphere of trust is created where each person is personally and spiritually prepared to experience the blessings of God.
Youth (V.C.Y.C.) 13-21 Age
Our mission is to make and grow disciples of young people by training them to fully participate in the body of Christ through responsible evangelism, and presentations of Jesus Christ through His discipline, work and teachings.
Children (V.C.) 3-12 Age
Our mission is to make and grow disciples by spiritually equipping our children to cope with the challenges of growing up through: Worship, Prayer, Bible Study, Teamwork, Christian Fellowship, Recreational Activities and Field Trips.
Women Striving for Excellence
The women of Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church are a dedicated group of wonderful women, desiring to do the will of God. Once joining Mt. Pleasant, enrollment in this ministry is automatic for every woman. The Women's Ministry meets on a regular basis to encourage sisterhood and unity. The ministry also host annual Women's Events.
Save the Seed
Our mission is to make disciples by empowering men to be strong leaders in the Kingdom and the Community, through the work of the Holy Spirit. Also to lead by example and to mentor the young boys.
Children's Church
Our mission is to make disciples of children ages 2-13 by providing a worship service that is a welcoming, loving, and nurturing environment. To lay the foundations of faith that will be a building block for a life filled with purpose and passion. To provide an opportunity for children to explore the roots of faith and begin a faith journey of their own. Held every Sunday.
Youth Adult (YACM) 22-40 Age
Our mission is to make disciples by uniting the community of young adults ages 22-40 in Christian fellowship and help guide them to their purpose. YACM will strive to empower young adults to use their gifts to glorify God and edify the body of Christ.

Media
The Audio Department of Mt. Pleasant Church is responsible for having quality sound at all events in and pertaining to Mt. Pleasant Church. Inclusive of Audio's responsibilities is the recording of all sermons, both audio and video, which are available for purchase in the bookstore. This ministry also provides sound for all services and special events such as Conferences, weddings & special events.
Boards
Deconess
The mission is to prepare for the sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism. The Deaconess Board’s main concern is mercy, both within and without the church. The Deaconess Board assists the Pastor in ministering to the sick and shut-in.
Usher's
The responsibility of the Usher is to greet everyone with a pleasant smile, maintain crowd control, and to assist in the receiving of tithes and offerings. This department works with the Security Department in monitoring the corridor and restrooms. The Usher Board also distributes bulletins and visitor cards.
Evangalistism
The Evangelism Board is a very vital board within the ministry. As our Pastor constantly reminds us, it is the "heartbeat" of the church. The Evangelism Department's responsibility is to witness to those who may not attend regular church services. It is their job to spread the word through street, jail & school ministry, hospitals and convalescent homes, and any place where they can be an effective witness. "For if we cease to evangelize, we will eventually die".
Trustee's
The mission is to take charge of care, maintenance and security of church property. Initiate necessary improvements to the church and maintain order and the proper decorum to be observed throughout God’s house of worship.
Stewards
The mission is to be accountable to make an exact accounting of all tithes, offerings and contributions made to the church. Ensure the stewardship and distribution of church resources to edify the congregation, provide support to the Pastor, his family, relief for the needy and distressed members of the church.
Stewardress
The mission is to assist the Preacher’s Steward in making provision for the support and comfort of the Pastor and his family.
